Well I just done disappeared didn’t I? Whoopsie! I’ve been home on spring break since the weekend and just haven’t really felt like blogging. I started working for my brother at his photography studio and am loving it. I’ve also been visiting with family which is always great. My nephew Bradley is getting so big already! And it seems like Charlie really likes being a big brother. They are so adorable to watch :)
Today was actually National Registered Dietitian Day. I didn’t do anything to celebrate though – bad me! How is National Nutrition Month going for you? Here is today tip from the ADA (I hope you went to their website and read their daily tips while I was gone!)
“Today is Registered Dietitian Day, when the American Dietetic Association reminds everyone the expert for practical, affordable and accurate nutrition information is a registered dietitian.
Should you see an RD? Here are ten reasons why consulting with a registered dietitian could benefit you if:
You have diabetes, cardiovascular problems or high blood pressure.
You are thinking of having or have had gastric bypass surgery.
You have digestive problems.
You're pregnant or trying to get pregnant.
You need guidance and confidence for breastfeeding your baby.
Your teenager has issues with food and eating healthfully.
You need to gain or lose weight.
You're caring for an aging parent.
You want to eat smarter.
You want to improve your performance in sports.
Learn more about registered dietitians at www.eatright.org and find one in your area. For more information about Registered Dietitian Day and National Nutrition Month, visit www.eatright.org/nnm.

My week has looked a little something like this:
I also have to admit something. Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. I had already decided a while ago that I was going to give up chocolate again this year. But because I knew I wasn’t going to have it soon, I went extremely overboard lately. Every night I was having a chocolate ice cream bar plus I polished off a 13 oz jar of Nutella in 3 days. I haven’t even eaten Nutella in years and and all of a sudden this. This honestly hasn’t been my best week and it’s been a horrible start to National Nutrition Month. But I felt it was important to admit my faults rather than try to hide it. I don’t want anyone to think my eating is “perfect” or to expect that you have to eat “perfect.” It’s just not realistic. But here I am today, hopefully now that Lent has started I won’t be dealing with these behaviors anymore.
I feel so off my routine this week. You would think it would be a good thing but it just makes me uncomfortable. I better relish my last few days of spring break though because the last half of the semester I doubt I will see any sunlight. My head will be in the books and computer the whole time……
i know how you feel! enjoy your break...just relax and don't be too hard on yourself! school and routine will be back soon enough!
ReplyDeleteHappy RD day! Sounds like you're having the week I had last week...enjoy the rest of your spring break though and youll be back to that routine in no time.
ReplyDeleteI know what it's like to be busy or on a break and not be in the mood to blog. I still take pictures but just don't feel like posting! Good luck with the chocolate, I gave up fried food for Lent which shouldn't be too horrible!
ReplyDeleteLast semester - yay! GOod luck with your thesis :)
ReplyDeleteI love that list of reasons to see an RD, I posted it on RD Day, too! Great minds think alike! :)
